Phil had always planned to leave his sales job with Heinz Co. to become a Realtor. In 1970, the year Missy was born; Phil chose to enter the real estate field. He quickly made arrangements to start his own company. In 1974, we formed Realty III, Inc. with two other brokers, and that business grew to three offices filled with agents. Then, as interest rates skyrocketed and mortgages became unassumable, the contract for deed opportunity diminished. Many agents left the real estate business – we stayed and found it more challenging, but again the tides turned and we persevered. Through the 80’s, we enjoyed building custom homes. We found unique, one of a kind lots interspersed around Prior Lake, and designed homes filled with character. This was a great way to keep the kids busy in their spare time – we did all the painting and staining. When it came time for landscaping – Chris and friends learned to lay sod very quickly – it was a good trade, sod for the car! Phil and Jeanne currently reside between Burnsville and Mesa, AZ. |
